Just finished reading: Pushing the Envelope: A Memoir by Mike “the Mailman” Herr as Told to Marykate Herr Weeks (2025). Not a great book, but its delightfully puckish, breezily generous, contagiously upbeat subject comes through clearly, and that’s what matters. The world needed some durable record of the man. Here we have one, and I feel grateful. (Anti-spoiler alert: Carla and I did not make it into the book. But we could have! He said so himself!)
