Just re-watched: Little Miss Sunshine (2006) at an open-air screening at Kocherpark in Bern. Darkly comic, peak indie-pop roadtrip quirkfest with a gooey caramel center. If only togetherness and courage rose this easily out of deep family dysfunction in real life. These characters are only pretending to be losers. Still, there’s enough nutrition in this R-rated, live-action cousin to Pixar to inspire, say, a merely mildly dysfunctional family to keep calm and pop the clutch.
