Some Christians who take a traditionalist line about same-sex erotic behavior are quick to supply extrabiblical context to their exegesis in the name of preserving biblical inerrancy (e.g., GotQuestions on the question of eating meat sacrificed to idols) or defending their practice of allowing women teachers (e.g., Ben Witherington). Yet they demur about doing the same when it comes to extending the right hand of fellowship to active bisexuals, lesbians, gay men, despite the extrabiblical context that might qualify Romans 1:18-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9, and 1 Timothy 1:10 being less speculative, (albeit not uncontested; see Gagnon, Wright, and Loader).
