Just listened to: Days of Ash (2026) by U2. Their most politically charged release in over forty years (or maybe ever), and their first release in over twenty years that I’ve willingly listened to front-to-back more than once. Sonically, it’s sure U2, alright. Lyrically, too, except that here, the on-the-nose lyrics and themes are endearing—at least in part because of the smack-dab timing of their release. Lent Rocks, I guess. And the times they are a’crazy. Hear the word of the Lord according to Bono. Forgive us, O Lord, for we have sinned.
